What’s going on, guys? Welcome to the Dad Tribes Podcast — and now, welcome to the official Dad Tribes Blog.
This is our very first post, and I want to take a moment to share where this whole movement started, how it’s grown, and what’s next for the future of Dad Tribes.
Back to 2020
Five years ago, I was working a full-time job for a startup called Ruckify. I had just landed the role, earning $90,000 a year, and like most dads, I thought I was on a solid path. It was early 2020 — right before the pandemic flipped life upside down for so many families.
At the time, I didn’t know it, but this season of life would be the launchpad for something much bigger than just another job.
The Spark That Started It All
What I noticed back then was simple: moms had tons of groups, but dads didn’t. Fathers like me were showing up every day for our kids, but there wasn’t a real community where we could connect, share wins and struggles, and feel like we weren’t doing it alone.
That gap stuck with me.
So, I decided to build what I wished already existed: a tribe for dads. A place where men who loved their kids and wanted to show up as their best selves could come together.
Building the First Dad Tribe
What started as a small idea grew quickly. I launched Lonestar Dads in Texas, and it became the largest dad community in the state.
We hosted free events, giveaways, and meetups. Local businesses sponsored us, dads showed up, and momentum kept building. In the first 90 days, I made $25,000 in sales. That gave me the confidence to leave my job and go all-in.
The community wasn’t just an online group — it became a movement.
From Local to National (and Beyond)
Fast forward to today: Dad Tribes has expanded far beyond Texas. What started as one state-based community has grown into a national network of dad chapters, and we’re now talking with leaders in Canada and Australia about taking this international.
The model is simple but powerful:
Dads get a local tribe where they belong.
Businesses get to sponsor and support fathers in their community.
And leaders get to run a chapter that creates income without becoming another full-time job.
Why This Blog Exists
This blog — like our podcast — is another way for us to share the journey, highlight stories from dads across the country, and give you a behind-the-scenes look at how this movement continues to grow.
My mission is simple: to prove that you don’t need a business — you need a community. When dads come together, families get stronger, communities get safer, and we all win.
What’s Next
This is just the beginning. In future posts and podcast episodes, I’ll share more about the lessons learned, the dads who are stepping up to lead, and the exciting ways we’re building Dad Tribes into something bigger than any one of us.
So stick around — because we’re just getting started.
